Monica Bayer Heaton
Director of Communications

Monica Bayer Heaton became director of communications at Culver-Stockton on Dec. 1, 2006. Previously, she has been a communications/PR professional in the St. Louis area for more than 25 years, working for a variety of corporate and non-profit organizations including the Catholic Health Association of the United States, Hospital Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and Unity Health System, as well as contract work with Sisters of Mercy Health System, St. John's Medical Center, the Judevine Center, McDonnell-Douglas, Boeing, and Maritz. She began her career as a newspaper journalist working as a reporter and editor for publications in Hammond, Ind.; Joliet, Ill.; Springfield, Ill.; and St. Louis, Mo. She has received numerous writing and communications awards from a variety of professional organizations. Heaton earned a bachelor's degree in English and journalism with honors at the University of Iowa.

Kimberly Guenther
Assistant Director of Communications

Kim is in her first year as the assistant director of communications but has been employed at C-SC since 2001. She has served in a variety of capacities, including the director of student activities and most recently as the assistant dean of student life.

Kimberly graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in corporate communication and from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2001 with a master's degree in educational leadership.

John Schild
Director of Sports Information

John Schild is in his 17th year as sports information director at Culver-Stockton College. A native of Quincy, Ill., Schild began his duties on July 15, 1992.

He is responsible for the release of information about Culver-Stockton College's intercollegiate athletic program and coordinates media relations for the athletic department, produces athletic publications, oversees sports information student workers and assists with the management of athletic events.

Schild earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education with a specialization in media communication and public relations in athletics from Quincy College in 1991.

Prior to coming to Culver-Stockton, Schild was a sportswriter for the Quincy Herald-Whig in Quincy, Ill. A member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Schild has covered Wildcat athletics, providing radio commentary and writing for various newspapers.

Kyle Trudell
E-Communications Director

Kyle Trudell is the e-communications director. Kyle, who has a B.F.A. with an emphasis in studio arts from Quincy University, helps to strategize and implement the C-SC website as well as other electronic communications to strengthen the college's communications initiatives. Kyle most recently was e-business manager with Adams Telephone Co-Operative known locally as Adams Networks and Simmetry Communications. While with Adams, his responsibilities included the corporate websites, online marketing, and content specifically created for cellular phones. Kyle, his wife Sandy, and their baby daughter Taylor live in Canton.

Erin Duesterhaus
Communications Specialist

Erin Duesterhaus joined the communications office in August 2008. She earned her bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in mass communications, with a focus in advertising and a minor in art and design. Duesterhaus enjoys helping out on her family's farm especially helping her younger cousins with their show pigs. When not at work she enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, hunting, playing euchre and being with her friends and family.
