Students listen to instructor explaining lesson

Culver-Stockton’s biology program prepares students for active engagement with contemporary biological concepts. Students learn to utilize investigative techniques to resolve scientific problems and to pursue a variety of coursework aimed at providing a broad and balanced understanding of the scientific method in general and its application to biology specifically. The curriculum combines traditional lectures with hands-on experience in the laboratory, field and professional environments.

Students who major in biological sciences are well prepared for a rigorous medical, dental or veterinary school curriculum, and graduates are highly sought after. Biology majors often have the opportunity to participate in world-class scientific research. Those who practice science in classrooms and labs learn how to be ethical in their research and experiments. Honesty is vital to being a scientist, and integrity is a must when it comes to reporting data. There is never a moment or a time when biology is not relative to who you are. Understanding biology means better knowing yourself and all of the many phenomena you experience on a daily basis.
