Something to Talk About

Employers nationwide have identified verbal and written communication skills among the top ten skills they seek when hiring college graduates. Hone your persuasive skills and learn to effectively craft and disseminate information to others. Your communications degree may lead you to journalism, broadcasting or media relations — we know because we have seen our graduates soar in these positions.

The C-SC Difference

You will develop skills to enhance personal and professional opportunities with your communications major. Focus on one of three specialty tracks: media communication, sports communication or public relations. You will be provided at least three semesters of practical hands-on experience with the student newspaper or the student-run online media outlet, Wildcat Wire. You will have multiple opportunities to be part of live broadcasts of Culver-Stockton athletics contests, as well as other events on campus and in the community.

My time as a Communication major at Culver-Stockton College has been unforgettable. I’ve grown as a person and gained valuable skills like delivering strong speeches, forming clear arguments, and adapting to different communication styles. Beyond the classroom, being part of the Wildcat Network has been a highlight. Over the past four years, I’ve helped shape it into a stronger, more exciting production for our campus. I’m proud of the mark I’m leaving, both in class and in the broadcast booth, and I’m ready to carry these experiences into my career.
