EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The education curriculum helps students learn how to think critically, analyze real problems and apply solutions in a real-world environment. Our curriculum allows students to experience what it is like to work in the classroom from their freshman year until their student teaching experience. Students acquire the knowledge to create an effective learning environment by gaining hands-on classroom teaching experience in a simulated classroom with area school children, participating in professional conferences and developing and delivering formal lessons.
WHY SHOULD I MAJOR IN EDUCATION?
Educators have the rare opportunity to shape and mold our future society. They help students recognize and use their full potential, provide them with skills, foster creativity and develop character. An educator’s job never stops. You never know where your influence on others will begin or end. Choosing education as a major means you are dedicated to continually helping others grow intellectually and socially. Want to change the world? Start in the classroom.
