ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
The English Education program provides the necessary training to become a well-prepared English teacher. The specific English Education courses give you the information to succeed and provide multiple opportunities to practice and develop instructional strategies. Students begin gaining hands-on classroom experience early, with the Sophomore Early Field Experience class, combining classroom learning with real-world experience in settings at area schools.
WHY SHOULD I MAJOR IN ENGLISH EDUCATION?
You will gain the preparation you need to become an educator of the highest quality. You will learn to recognize, accept and enhance the role teachers play in global and national public affairs. An English Education major will equip you with an in-depth study of literature, writing and language, combined with excellent training for teaching, preparing you for leadership in a language arts classroom.
