Fine Arts Scholarships

We have number of art scholarships available for incoming freshmen and transfer students. Throughout the year the art faculty evaluates art portfolios (in a portfolio case or as individual examples of artwork) and offers scholarships to a number of incoming students.

Students seeking an art scholarship must declare art as a major or minor area of study. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $1,750 annually. If you are interested in an art scholarship, bring 6 to 12 pieces of your best artwork to campus for a portfolio review. If you do not plan to visit campus in the near future, please send us samples or your work in by e-mail or regular mail with slides, digital photos, or a video of your artwork. Send to the attention of the Art Department.

Scholarships for participation in vocal and/or instrumental ensembles are available through the audition process to all students regardless of their major. Students who are offered and accept a music scholarship are required to complete a separate audition at the beginning of the fall semester for participation and placement in all appropriate vocal and/or instrumental ensembles. The ensemble directors determine placement in the group(s).

Students who wish to declare a major in theatre are required to audition for every mainstage production and attend the strike for every mainstage production to be eligible for theatre scholarship. Students who wish to declare a minor in theatre or have an interest in theatre must audition for at least one production and attend one strike per semester to be eligible for theatre scholarship.

If you have questions about a portfolio review, please contact one of the Art Department faculty or talk to your admissions counselor.
