BACHELOR OF ARTS IN THEATRE

Students at C-SC perform in the production of The Addams Family

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The BA in Theatre allows students the opportunity to study two distinct disciplines. Students take on a second bachelor’s degree in their four years at C-SC. Faculty members will guide you in academic studies and production work. All students get opportunities to design mainstage productions and direct full-length shows. Students perform in productions as early as their first semester. You may audition for and earn scholarships to study or participate in mainstage theatre. Four mainstage productions, including multiple student-directed one act plays and one musical, are produced each year. Each year students work with a professional actor in the annual Guest Artist Production and take master classes taught by professionals.

WHY SHOULD I MAJOR IN THEATRE?

Many students find that theatre helps them develop the confidence that’s essential to speaking clearly, lucidly and thoughtfully. Theatre experience helps you learn creative problem-solving techniques that are applicable to many jobs. You learn to work effectively with different types of people. The complexities of a theatrical production demand people willing to be self-starters. undertake any task that needs to be done in order for the production to succeed.
