Turn Your Talent Up to Full Volume

Your major in music at Culver-Stockton College is more than just a degree. It’s a journey of artistic discovery and personal expression. Here, you will explore the power of music to move, inspire, and connect people, while developing your own unique voice as a performer, composer, or scholar. Whether your passion lies in performance, theory, pedagogy, or music history, you will gain the skills and confidence to make your mark in the world on music. Many students go on to graduate study, double major, or pair their love of music with another field, preparing them to lead, teach, and create in vibrant musical communities everywhere.

The C-SC Difference

At Culver-Stockton College, your musical journey begins the moment you arrive. From your first semester, you can perform in any of our outstanding bands or choirs, no matter your major. You will also have the chance to audition for scholarships that recognize your talent and help fund your education. If music technology is your passion, you can dive right in with access to our state-of-the-art recording studios and cutting-edge music technology lab for hands-on experience in audio production. Our faculty includes nationally recognized conductors, acclaimed performers, and award-winning educators who share their expertise on stages and in classrooms across the country.

C-SC’s faculty worked to individualize my program, so I could complete my teaching certification after earning my music degree elsewhere. The music faculty blessed me with numerous opportunities to hone my craft. They successfully prepared me for my graduate studies in vocal performance and my career as a music educator, performer, and C-SC music faculty member.

Information About Our Minors

The music minor is excellent for those students wishing to explore their passion as a musician with more in-depth private study in their instrument and voice and who want to become better well-rounded musicians with a strong understanding of foundational music concepts. This pairs well with practically any other major on campus for students already participating in ensembles.

Music Therapy: We have helped prepare several students for graduate studies in music therapy. Oftentimes students will major in music education with a minor in psychology, or double major in music (BA) and psychology.
