Vaccine Requirement FAQ
Culver-Stockton College will require all students – undergraduate, graduate and professional – to be fully vaccinated as a condition of enrollment for the 2021-2022 academic year.
At Culver-Stockton College, it is our mission to educate students within a supportive learning community through our experiential curriculum. We have done our very best to stay true to our mission amidst the global pandemic and believe it is time to transition our college back to a “normal” learning environment with regards to hands-on learning. Student safety is our top priority, which is why we are requiring all students – undergraduate, graduate and professional – to be fully vaccinated by the beginning of the 2021-2022 academic year. We believe that students learn best in communities with unique learning experiences, which can only be achieved through face-to-face learning.
Will C-SC require that students be vaccinated this fall?
All students who come to campus for any reason in Fall 2021 must be vaccinated against COVID-19. This includes full-time and part-time students, undergraduates and graduate students, and residential and commuter students.
How will students provide proof of vaccination?
All students must provide proof of vaccination in one of the following ways:
- Upload vaccination records to MedProctor Portal, located on MyCulver
- Email vaccination records to email@example.com
Will C-SC be providing vaccines?
COVID-19 vaccines are not currently available on our campus. See below for more information regarding how to find a vaccine, register or receive your vaccine:
- Go to the CDC’s webpage (https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/reporting/vaccinefinder/about.html)
- Go to the national vaccine finder website (https://www.vaccines.gov/search/) which will direct you to locations near you; or,
- Ask your personal health provider. Some doctors’ offices offer pre-registration at clinics, or if not, can advise you on services in your area.
What vaccines will be accepted?
Any COVID-19 vaccine authorized by a governmental authority will be accepted.
Are there exemptions?
Students may request an exemption from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for medical or religious reasons, and must be approved by the Dean of Students. A written document showing exemption must be provided from a medical doctor or religious leader.
Students enrolled in fully online degree programs with no campus presence will not need to provide proof of vaccination.
Do I need a vaccination certificate as an international student?
The Student Life Manager will assist international to ensure compliance with the COVID-19 requirements as well as provide connection to vaccination resources.
Are vaccinations required for faculty and staff?
We are closely reviewing whether we will establish a vaccine requirement for faculty and staff. We will provide updated information as soon as possible.
Will I have to wear a mask or social distance when returning in the fall?
With the vaccination requirement, our plan is that the campus will return to a normal learning environment. Beginning fall 2021, the use of masks, social distancing and capacity guidelines will be eliminated until further notice.
Why does the College think the vaccines are safe?
Throughout the course of this pandemic, we have relied heavily on the direction of the CDC to provide guidance for the wellbeing of our campus and community. The American College Health Association (ACHA), along with the CDC, strongly suggest a campus-wide vaccine initiative for all colleges and universities. Therefore, C-SC has trusted this guidance to deem the COVID-19 vaccine safe for the greater population of C-SC. The available, governmental supported vaccines are backed by science and are recommended to return our nation to a pre-pandemic state.
What happens if I do not follow the COVID-19 vaccination requirement?
Culver-Stockton College is relying on the actions of each of us as a community to do our part in this time of national crisis. The C-SC community has always been committed to the wellbeing of others and therefore has established the vaccination requirements. Individuals who fail to follow the requirements, and are not granted an exemption, could endanger others and will not be allowed on campus.
